Ireland’s NEW National Musical Theatre Youth Training Company

Ireland’s NEW National Musical Theatre Youth Training Company:

Dear Music Teacher,

I hope that this letter finds you well.

It was great to meet so many of you at the Conference back in October, and I hope all of your school musicals were a great success!

Since then, Colm Wilkinson and myself have rolled out a new national musical theatre training company for young actors aged 14 to 24 years; Irish Youth Musical Theatre (IYMT). IYMT aims to find, nourish and showcase excellence in musical theatre talent across all corners of the country – both North and South – and help bridge the gap to potential careers in the industry. Run in partnership with the Royal Irish Academy of Music, we are inviting all young actors, singers and dancers to consider joining this training network, and work with other talented young performers from other schools, local societies and drama schools from all across the island.

To launch our inaugural year, we are travelling around the country with our West End Studio Series; a series of masterclasses led by some of the West End’s biggest and current names. We will also be announcing dates for our NATIONAL AUDITIONS for our first National Youth Production later in Spring. Keep an eye on our social media @irishyouthmusicaltheatre for more updates.

We would love to see any promising young actors from your school over the coming months, as we offer them a unique opportunity to experience the professional musical theatre industry on home soil.

For more information, and to book a place at one of our studio sessions, please visit our website on iymt.ie (Note that limited places remain, so please advise students to book soon to avoid disappointment).

Looking forward to meeting some of your students during the year.

Yours sincerely,

Séimí Campbell
Artistic Director, IYMT
