  • We advocate for the development of Music Education in our schools
  • The National Executive meets regularly to plan and organise PPMTA events
  • We represent members on syllabus course committees
  • We are members of the umbrella group-Subject Associations Representative Group (SARG)
  • Our officers also engage with bodies such as The Society for Music Education in Ireland (SMEI)
  • We share resources through our website and at our meetings
  • We have commissioned workbooks for Leaving Certificate which are available from our website
  • We provide opportunities for members to interact on our Forum
  • Through our Branch Network we encourage collaboration and sharing of knowledge and skills
  • We facilitate teaching and learning, providing opportunities for professional development at our annual conference and branch meetings
  • We organise annual Leaving Certificate Revision Courses for students of our members
  • We represent members when issues of concern arise with the State Examinations
  • We support newly qualified teachers of Music
