RIAM’s Diploma in Group and Community Music Teaching aims to train the ‘Swiss Army knife’ musician. Over 6 intensive weekends, our Diploma students learn a range of skills which are supported by project manegement seminars. This combination aims to bring our students’ existing expetise and new skills to life in the classroom/community setting.
The Diploma has proven to be popular with secondary school teachers, who value an intensely practical course in refreshing their skills and thinking. One key aspect is our work placement component, which would of course be the classroom for the teaching practitioner.
