Opportunity for Teachers to Attend Erasmus+ Training Event on
Choral Music and Social inclusion in Cyprus 6-11 February 20234
IN-VOICE4Empowerment is an Erasmus+ funded project that addresses social inclusion for choral pedagogy (in secondary schools, as well as senior-level primary and community contexts). The entire project runs from March 2022-February 2024. Participating countries are Cyprus, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal and Spain. Dublin City University is the Irish partner on the project.
A special international training event will take place from 6-11 February 2023 in Nicosia, Cyprus.
2-3 places on the project training course are available for Ireland–based teachers from the post-primary sector, with funding of up to €850 per participant to cover travel and accommodation costs.
The DCU project team is looking for teachers from different parts of the country and with different levels of experience in choral leadership to take part in the training event. We are particularly interested in offering places to teachers who share the project’s principles of advancing social inclusion, and who would be willing to try out new methods over a term when they return to their own choirs.
The free training led by European experts includes workshops on inclusion, resilience, body confidence, music technology and vocal/choral training elements.
Please note that participants are expected to arrive in Cyprus on Sunday 5th February or no later than the morning of Monday 6th of February, and to leave on Saturday morning, 11th February i.e. they must participate in the full week’s schedule of workshops (and social activities!). Participants must also bring their own devices (laptops, iPads etc.).
Those interested in putting their name forward for consideration should contact John O’Flynn john.oflynn@dcu.ie on or before Wednesday 30 November.
