The branch meeting will explore leaving cert composition and listening. This workshop will focus on teaching and learning strategies for backing chords and a guide on how to pick the best chord progressions. This will support teachers in implementing a step by step sequential approach to harmony. This workshop will also explore melody writing and how to teach our students to creatively compose, with various examples of standards being presented. The latter half of the workshop will be based around listening. This will include a presentation which will be available to teachers who attend afterwards. This will give an opportunity to teachers to build their resources and interact with different methodologies for teaching set works and Irish music. The workshop will be facilitated by Anne Maxwell.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the online workshop!
Best wishes,
PPMTA
