PPMTA Conference 2024: ‘Fostering diversity and inclusion in the music classroom’

I hope that you are all keeping well following a busy academic year of exams, practicals, musicals and school events. I am writing to you to inform you that our Annual PPMTA Conference will take place in The Clayton Hotel, Sligo from Friday 4th October to Sunday 6th October 2024. The theme of our conference this year will be ‘Fostering diversity and inclusion in the music classroom’ and I am delighted to announce that our keynote address will be given by Dr. Zachary Walker, head of the Department of Psychology and Human Development at UCL, with a 25 year career in studying leadership and learning across the UK, US, Europe and Asia.

Updates on how to register for the conference will follow in a later update however accommodation is available at The Clayton Hotel Sligo by phoning them on 0719119000 or by emailing them at info.sligo@claytonhotels.com.

To avail of the discounted room rate, please quote PPMT041024 on or before Friday 8th September 2024. Rates are as follows: Single – €140 per night and Double/Twin – €80 per person sharing per night. Rooms held for PPMTA will be released that day and the conference rate discontinued.

All updates and developments in relation to the above will be posted on our website PPMTA.ie, our PPMTA Forum and on all of our Social Media Platforms. If you are a not a member of our PPMTA Forum, you may sign up via our website. In addition to conference updates, our PPMTA forum provides a platform for members to post queries, discuss challenges, suggest activities and share teaching resources on a regular basis.
