The address is <strong>Drumcondra EC, DCU, St. Patrick\u2019s Campus, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting is a two-hour long workshop given by <strong>Ciara Coleman<\/strong> on the topic: &#8220;<strong>The Active Classroom&#8221;.<\/strong>The aim of this workshop is to present teachers with a range of ideas and exercises to build an active classroom, with a special focus on the Leaving Certificate Music Course.&nbsp; Many students struggle with melody writing in particular, and with aural skills more generally; we will explore ways to develop students\u2019 inner hearing through singing and rhythmic exercises, simple dictation and memory work.&nbsp; We will also explore ways to teach the Set Works in a practical way, complementing traditional methods with a more holistic approach.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resources demonstrated will be made available, but please bring a manuscript and pencil for any additional note-taking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tea\/Coffee will be served from 5.45pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Places are limited to <strong>20 <\/strong>so if you are interested can you please email me at <strong><a href=\"mailto:Whytelaura90@gmail.com\">Whytelaura90@gmail.com<\/a><\/strong> asap to reserve your spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking forward to seeing you at the workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Laura Whyte<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PPMTA Dublin Branch Representative<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Music Educators, There will be a meeting of the Dublin branch of the PPMTA on Tuesday evening 17th January from 6-8pm in Drumcondra Education Centre.
